            NLINK SERVER

NLINK® is an event-driven transaction-based system, built around a hub-and-spoke architecture. NLINK supports the concept of technology independence through the adoption of a modular and component-based architecture. In general, technologies (such as XML) are supported through NLINK eXtenders® while support for a particular vendor's implementation of technology (such as Microsoft's MSMQ) is supported through NLINK CoNNectors®.

Technology independence allows NLINK integration projects to provide the optimal solution on a case-by-case basis. Each application that has access to NLINK is called, in NLINK terminology, an external system. The NLINK Server is connected to external systems through CoNNectors and eXtenders.

NLINK SERVER ARCHITECTURE
The NLINK Server is an extremely high-performance configuration-based integration engine and a true enterprise-class product providing all the essential elements of an integration server, (configurable formatting, mapping, transformation, and business logic), as well as advanced features such as Reliability, Scalability, Flexibility, and Manageability.

To better understand the technical aspects of the NLINK Server we recommend that you review the NLINK Architecture White Paper. It describes the internal architecture of the various major components of the NLINK product suite, which includes the NLINK Server, NLINK CoNNectors and eXtenders, and the NLINK Configuration Module. In addition to a high-level architectural overview it goes on to discuss some of the more important features incorporated in each component and relates them back to the underlying product architecture.
