"NLINK INSIDE" POWERS WIRELESS DATA COLLECTION

	This customer is a manufacturing and distribution company dedicated to improving data collection, asset tracking, controlled access, and safety inspections through the use of Automated Data Collection (ADC) Technologies within the petrochemical, power generation, and process manufacturing Industries.

THE BUSINESS PROBLEM This customer saw an increasing number of missed sales opportunities that would have expanded the market of its wireless data collection product if only it could exchange real-time data seamlessly and easily with its customers’ SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. But the customer had no in-house SAP integration expertise and neither the desire nor financial ability to develop them. Also, the customer needed an integration solution for its particular corner of the SAP market that was not cost prohibitive. In other words, the cost of integrating to their customers SAP systems could not outweigh the licensing cost of their product. THE NLINK SOLUTION Embedding NLINK® into this customer’s product immediately expanded their available market, while at the same time allowed them to focus their development resources on their core competencies of wireless data collection. Junot Systems Professional Services worked closely with their development team to connect NLINK to their product and provide an assortment of pre-configured SAP transactions. The SAP R/3 and mySAP products, like all commercially available ERP systems, supports tens of thousands of business transactions that take data in a specific format, process it, and then optionally return data in a potentially different format. Further complicating matters is that no two SAP installations are the same since the deployment requires it to be modified to support that particular company’s specific business processes. Without a product like NLINK, (that supports Rapid Application Integration (RAI) to these complex and sophisticated ERP systems), most companies would be unable to provide fast, cost-effective, repeatable and maintainable interfaces to products such as SAP. Whenever any prospective partner enters into a full partnership with Junot Systems they receive access to our SAP experts, backed by our in-house SAP R/3 and mySAP systems, and are provided with sales and marketing support during their SAP-related product sales. Most importantly, we work with our partners to develop a pricing model for the integration solution that does not overwhelm the base price of their product. This customer clearly gained a competitive advantage by embedding Junot’s low-cost out-of-the-box NLINK integration solution into their product. The process is quick, simple and much more cost-effective than starting a custom development effort. And, as a side benefit, the integration process forced this customer to critically examine the structure of their product’s user interface and, as a result, they are now changing it to provide more flexibility for different user implementations.
